Brazil is the leading exporter of tropical forage seeds, and the credit goes to its rich and fertile soil and extremely favorable cli-
mate conditions for the production of cultivars that comply with the technical recommendations coming from the foreignmarket.
In such a scenario, the Brazilian companies are investing in the conquest of markets, through the modernization of the machinery
park, the supply of newmaterials and training courses for the domestic and foreign representatives. The Country is equally a rele-
vant consumer. Somuch that, in the relation with the foreignmarket, shipments do not exceed 30 percent.
The statistical numbers of Brazil’s Agribusiness Foreign Trade (Agrostat), of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Sup-
ply (Mapa), indicate that in 2016 Brazil’s forage exports amounted to 8,367,297 kilograms, involving approximately US$ 44,051,273.
The three leading buyers of the Brazilian product, in 2016, were Colombia, Bolivia andMéxico. In 2017, until May, the official balance
pointed to the shipment of 2,536,813 kilograms of the product, bringing in revenue of US$ 26,082,293.

O Brasil é omaior exportador de sementes de forrageiras tropicais, por ser rico em terras férteis e de clima extremamente favo-
rável para a produção de cultivares que sigamas recomendações técnicas domercado externo. Comesse cenário, as empresas bra-
sileiras estão investindo na conquista demercados, através damodernização do parque demáquinas, da oferta de novosmateriais
e do treinamento de seus representantes internos e externos. O País tambémé umgrande consumidor. Tanto que, na relação com
omercado externo, os embarques não passamde 30%.
As Estatísticas de Comércio Exterior do Agronegócio Brasileiro (Agrostat), do Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimen-
to (Mapa), apontam que em 2016 as exportações brasileiras de forrageiras chegaram a 8.367.297 quilos, movimentando em torno
deUS$ 44.051.273,00. Os trêsmaiores compradores do produto brasileiro, em2016, foramColômbia, Bolívia eMéxico. Em2017, até
