he Brazilian cachaça supply
chain has managed to get the
approval of a relevant plea in
2016, the return to the Simple
National Tax system. The inclu-
sion of themicro and small-scale sugarcane
spirit distilleries, which include cachaça, got
itsapprovalinlateOctober2016,whenpres-
ident Michel Temer sanctioned the Growing
Without Fear project. Besides other mea-
sures, the project includes wineries and
breweries in theSimpleNational (Integrated
Tax Payment System and Micro and Small-
Scale Company Contributions). Nonethe-
less, the change to the system should enter
into force as of 2018.
